I was born in Ankara, Turkey. My family and I
immigrated to the United States when I was 7 years old.
I spent the majority of my childhood in Long Island, New
York. I attended Cornell University on a scholarship
where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in microbiology. I
received my Medical Degree from the University of Texas
Medical Branch at Galveston in 1984. I had the honor,
while in Medical school, to be the Director of the
National Student Research Forum and the Vice President
of my class. Following medical school, I completed a
comprehensive five year general surgery residency at the
University Of Maryland Hospital And The Shock Trauma
Institute in Baltimore. I completed my fellowship in
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical
College of Virginia. I received extensive training in
all aspects of plastic surgery – including aesthetic
procedures, microsurgery, management of facial
fractures, and complicated soft tissue injuries. I then
spent time with several prominent plastic surgeons
nationwide to further my education in my area of special
interest – cosmetic procedures.
I am board-certified by
the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In 1991, I
established my private plastic surgery practice in
Bellevue Washington and am currently in Kirkland. I hold staff privileges at Overlake Hospital
Medical Center.
